There is so much interest in Mindfulness these days and how it can benefit our mind and bodies as a whole. Mindfulness has been suggested as a meditation therapy to reduce depression-related manifestation in adolescents. Depression is a feeling of extreme lows in one’s mood and can be linked with worry and anxiety. Adolescents can display signs of challenging behaviour shifts leading to stress issues. Mindfulness, when taught properly, has the ability to decrease depression, anxiety and stress. Mindfulness requires an ability to exercise attentiveness. Not easy, but with persistence it can have a positive impact on health and well-being.
